July 30, 1949 – July 4, 2025
Amos J. “Jack” Minkel lll of Hamburg, NY passed away on July 4, 2025 at the age of 75. Beloved brother
of Martha L. (Jack Wild) Minkel, William J. (Barbara), Donald H. (Annie Miller) and Robert H. (Becky)
Minkel; cherished uncle of Elizabeth Minkel, Victoria (Dylan Chrust,) Robert Minkel Jr., Edward (Alexis)
Minkel and Daniel Miller – Minkel; a great-niece, Louisa Minkel and a great- nephew, Benjamin Karan;
also survived by a very dear friend, Melanie Ziolko. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Amos J. Jr.
and Emmy Louise (nee Luetje) Minkel . Jack graduated from Hamburg High School “Class of 1967” where
he was an accomplished athlete and excelled at soccer and wrestling. He continued his education at
Colgate University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and also played soccer. Jack loved music
and played the electric and acoustic guitar. He was well known as the “Mechanical Wizard”, he could fix
anything. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed mountain climbing, water skiing, cross country skiing,
kayaking and canoeing. In his younger years he took groups on canoe trips all over North America. A
Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to
the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg, NY. The family suggest memorial
contributions in Jack’s memory be made to the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Co. or Sparks of Hope, 107 Main
