Obituary of Nancy M. Rashford
Nancy (Gourley) Rashford
October 29th 1953-July 17 2025
Fashionista, Gardener, Cat Enthusiast, Chocoholic
Nancy Gourley passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived with strength, style, and grace; even in her final days, a new pair of shoes was delivered to the house. That was Nancy: always looking ahead with a sparkle in her eye and warmth in her heart.
Born in Morrisville, NY and a longtime resident of Hamburg, NY, Nancy lived a life full of creativity and quiet resilience.
Nancy had a gift for making ordinary things beautiful. Whether she was planting sun flowers in her garden, sewing a blanket, or crafting barn quilts and handmade gifts, she poured care into everything she touched. Her love of cats, a good pickle recipe, and the occasional quirky craft like her brief but memorable Amish Bunny phase spoke to her playful spirit and boundless imagination.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: camping in the RV, long country drives, and cozy evenings watching Westerns like Lonesome Dove. She was happiest when surrounded by family, especially in the kitchen, where her ravioli, chicken pot pie, and Christmas cookies became cherished traditions. And if there was chocolate nearby, she never said no.
Nancy lived with heart and intention. She shopped for Christmas all year round, always thinking of others. She gave freely her time, her talents, her unconditional love.
She is survived by her devoted husband Tom Rashford; sons Aaron and Adam Perrino; stepsons Jay and Greg Rashford; and their loving wives Christine, Carrie, and Maria. She was a proud grandmother to Halie, Isaac, Liam, Charlotte, Matthew, James, and Grace and a joyful great-grandmother to Grayson and Phoenix. Her family was the center of her world, and her memory lives on in the lives she helped shape.
Nancy’s warmth, strength, and creativity touched everyone who knew her. She will be missed deeply and remembered always. Relatives and friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg, NY on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5-7 PM.
