George J. Denecke Sr.
September 28, 1942 – September 4, 2025
George Jacob Denecke Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, George lived a life marked by quiet strength, humor, and deep faith.
George proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1970.
He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy (nee Roesser) Denecke; their loving children Daniel (Denise), Eileen (David) LaBorde, George Jr. (Elizabeth), Peter (Krista), and Mark (Katie); and thirteen cherished grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Monica (Patrick) Spadola, Claire (Kenny) Martinez, David LaBorde, Lillian (Zack) Denecke, Sylvia (Jackson) Prasifka, Linus, Hazel, George Jacob, Peter, Dominic, Grace, Charles, and Mary Elizabeth. George is also survived by his sister, Ann Faltyn, and a sister-in-law Joan Denecke. George was predeceased by his parents, George and Agnes (nee Bamrick) and three brothers, Charles (late Ellen), Gerald (late Patricia) and John Denecke.
A man of quiet demeanor and quick wit, George found happiness in the everyday. He had a passion for woodworking and wine making—crafts that reflected both his patience and creativity. He loved to travel, spend time in nature, and could often be found reading on his laptop with curiosity and contentment. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life and shone through in the way he treated others—with kindness and humility.
Above all else, George cherished his family. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
