James M. Dillon

August 7, 1930 – September 6, 2025

Of Hamburg, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 95; beloved husband for 71 yrs of Margaret (nee Mendofik) Dillon; devoted and loving father of Timothy (Carol) and MaryEllen Dillon, Susan (late Robert) Blohm, Maureen (Donald) Method, Robert (Brenda), David (Melissa) and Scott (Angela) Dillon; cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; dear brother of William (late Janet) Dillon; also survived by many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Buffalo, NY as a metallurgist retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed camping, shooting pool, eating “sweets” and especially loved telling stories about his life. Friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg on Thursday, September 11th from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at SS Peter & Paul Church, 66 E. Main St. Hamburg at 12:00PM. Please assemble at the church. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
