I only knew Mitch as he passed through Tim Hortons. He would always stop and talk for a few minutes. He was such a pleasant man. RIP Mitch

Q: How did you meet James? A: I met Mitch when he moved in across the hall from me on Hertel Ave. back in the 80s (across the street from the Hotel California night club). He was a fun guy who liked to have a good time. We would go to Gabel's down the street regularly for Monday Night Football for their chicken wings/Rolling Rock special & watch the game (afterwards many times visiting Mighty Taco on way home). He did like to talk about the weather too. One Sunday night we went to a NightLife party at Pearl St Grill (might have been Garcia"s then). When we came home, we found the cops soon breaking up a loud party in an apt bldg behind our building. We were both looking out our front windows upon the Hertel St strip when a police officer w/wild & energenic eyes who was running into a side alleyway stopped & yelled at us to stop watching & "get inside" our building! Needless to say Mitch, we obeyed his command immediately! Thanks for being my friend Mitch and Rest in Power & I'll see you on the other side!

James was a great person I meant at Tim Hortons on South Park in Hamburg. I seen him every Monday and Friday He made my day. And on Sundays I seen him at z j's after church every Sunday. He just made my day. A ture friend . I.miss you so much James Love always Cathy Tomkinson

My name is Debbie Vanmeter (Fuller) I attended StJames United Church of Christ with Mitch. I spoke with Mitch quite a bit at our 50th reunion. I feel so very blessed to have known Mitch. I live out of town but always looked forward to seeing Mitch as he was always one of the most friendliest people in the room. So sad to hear of your passing Mitch but I know you’re in heaven

I'm Mitch's aunt. He and I share a unique relationship as we were born a week apart in February 1957. We were together in the St. James UCC youth group and in the same confirmation class. We just attended our 50th Class of '75 Hamburg High School reunion together. Congratulations, Mitch! Your spirit is now free from the physical, human experience. All is in divine order as your soul finally rests in the peace of God's eternal love. "Well done good and faithful servant," brother in Christ. How's the weather? Touchdown!
