Frances P. Wright, 79, of Hamburg, NY passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2026.Beloved wife of 56 years to Judd Wright; loving mother of Christopher Wright; dear sister of David Pound. Fran was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary (nee Plandowski) Pound. She was very involved in her community through her many memberships, including the Hamburg VFW Post 1419 Auxiliary, where she was both active and served as Past President. She also was a member of the American Legion Post # 527, and proudly held leadership roles as Past President of the Erie County VFW Council Ladies Auxiliary and the 6^th District New York VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In addition, she was among the founders of the Hamburg Welcome Wagon welcoming newcomers to the community she loved. A graduate of Hamburg High School Class of 1964, Fran continued her education at the University of Buffalo, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology. She enjoyed shopping on QVC and most of all, spending time with her family. Friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg, NY on Thursday, January 29^th from 5-9 PM, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30^th at 11 AM. Interment will be private at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Fran’s honor may be made to Hamburg VFW Post # 1419 Ladies Auxiliary.
