Carole C. Lane, 78, of Orchard Park, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was a devoted wife of 56 years to Peter Lane; a loving mother to Jennie (Christopher Bloomquist) Lane and Chrissy (Garrett) Shatzel; and a cherished grandmother to Sawyer and Xander Shatzel and Tarben Bloomquist. Carole is also survived by her siblings, Kirk Clausing and Mary (John) Talkington. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Jenny (née Kirk) Clausing.

Carole was a talented interior designer and the owner of Carole Lane Interiors in Orchard Park for more than 25 years. Her keen eye and creativity were reflected not only in her professional work, but also in the beautiful and welcoming space she created at home and in her backyard.

Deeply community-minded, Carole often volunteered her time tending the gardens at Knox Farm State Park. At home, her own garden was a source of pride and pleasure, and the setting for many gatherings with friends and family. An avid tennis player, Carole had a sneaky backhand that surprised many on the court! She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In accordance with Carole’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on April 26, 2026, at a time and location to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Avenue, Hamburg, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carole’s name to Friends of Knox Farm or the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation.
