Obituary of Anthony J. Weiss

On April 11, 2021, an East Eden treasure, Anthony J. Weiss left us to play euchre with his brothers. Husband of the late Joan F. (nee Kowalewski) Weiss. Father of Robert Weiss. Brother of Rose (late Edward), Mary (late Richard) and Millie (Steve) Blasz and Linda Ashelman; brother-in-law of Sally Kowalewski; beloved companion of Judy Wittmeyer. Predeceased by brothers, Edward (Florence), Joseph (Dorothy) and Vincent (Arlene) Weiss. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Celebration was held at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 6895 Boston Cross Road, Boston on Monday, April 19 at 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial was held for family members at St. Mary (Oratory of St. John the Baptist RC Church), 8175 East Eden Road, East Eden at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. A strawberry, pepper, heirloom tomato and everything in between farmer. Always quick with a joke and eyes a color blue that can only now be seen in heaven. Truly a man of unparalleled integrity, honesty and hard work. Tony was a heavy equipment operator with Winters Rigging for 60 years, volunteer firefighter, Knight of Columbus, member of Eden planning board, founding member of the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers market and a pioneer in New York's hemp industry. He is loved and will be missed by the many lives he touched in his time with us. Arrangements by the DONALD M. DEMMERLEY FUNERAL HOME, 21 Pierce Avenue, Hamburg, New York 14075.
