Nelson, Burt W., age 81, of Hamburg, October 3, 2009. Husband of Evelyn (nee Fogg). Father of Felice (Edward) Krycia, Kurt (Leslie) Nelson and Alisa (Jason) Fox. Grandfather of Richard (Bridget) Erickson, Alex Krycia, Samantha and Kaydee Nelson, Nicholas and Casey Fox. Also survived by 1 niece and 3 nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3487 North Boston Rd. at Route 75, Eden, Friday at 10:00 AM. Visitation at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Pierce Avenue, Hamburg, Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation. Mr. Nelson was a WW II Navy veteran and member of Seabees Island XL-5, AFL-CIO Newspaper Guild, U.S. Power Squadron, Buffalo Dortmund Sister City Committee, Club Lorelei, Dramatist Guild, owner and editor of the newspaper Volksfreund/People's Friend and was employed at the Courier Express (1959-1982) and The Buffalo News (1982-present).
