Obituary of Timothy J Walker

Timothy J. Walker

April 17, 1953–March 2, 2022

Timothy John Walker was born on April 17, 1953, in Buffalo, New York. He passed away, peacefully, on March 2, 2022, in Williamsville, surrounded by his family.

Tim was the son of Kenneth and Jeanne Walker (nee Ottney) and the brother of Thomas K. Walker. The family made their first home on North Ellicott Street in the Village of Williamsville. When Tim was seven years old, the family made the big move across Main Street to South Ellicott.

Tim attended Williamsville South High School (Class of 1971), where he lettered in tennis playing first singles for the team, participated in many plays and musicals, and graduated as a member of the National Honor Society. Tim went on to receive a bachelor’s in history and philosophy at SUNY Binghamton. He later earned a second bachelor’s in education at Daemen College and a master’s of education at Buffalo State.

He met the love of his life, Pauline Yacobucci, while the two were teaching in the Frontier School District. They married on June 28, 1980. The couple found a home in the Village of Hamburg and enjoyed traveling extensively together before adopting a little girl, Meagan, in the summer of 1987.

Tim taught math at Elmwood Franklin School in Buffalo, where he was also the co-director of the school’s summer program. Following his teaching career, he authored and edited numerous college textbooks in the field of business technology.

He was an avid tennis player, belonging to many local leagues and coaching many players in the Village of Hamburg’s recreation programs. Tim was also a voracious reader, starting and finishing multiple books a week. He never missed the Sunday edition of The Buffalo News.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Meagan Walker Doxtad (Matthew); his brother, Thomas K. Walker; four nephews and nieces, Ian, Tess, and Isabella Walker, and Nicholas Yacobucci; and many cousins and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Walker, and his parents, Kenneth and Jeanne Walker.

Visitation will be held at Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home in Hamburg from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 10. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 11, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg.
