 Age 84, of North Boston, NY, December 1, 2022.Beloved husband for 58 years of the late Jeanette (nee Neumann) Klein; loving father of Gregory (Tina Ward), Kirk (Peggy) and Dawn Klein; cherished grandfather of Jennifer Klein, Cathleen (Jason) Perry, Michael (Amanda), Patricia and William (Natalie) Klein; great-grandfather of Owen and Josie Perry and Violet Klein; dear brother of Margaret Edington; brother-in-law of Shirley (late William) Nellis. Friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave., Hamburg on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. All are invited to a Funeral Service at St Paul Lutheran Church Rte 75 and N. Boston Rd., Eden on Thursday at 10 AM. Flowers gratefully declined .Memorial s to St. Paul Lutheran Church, N. Boston Vol. Fire Co. or Buffalo Hospice. Herb was a 1956 graduate of Hamburg High School. He was a pillar of the community he owned and operated Herb’s Barbershop in North Boston for 65 years. His world revolved around North Boston. He held every position at the NBVFD. He joined in 1956, Sergeant of Arms 1958, President, 1960, Secretary 1962 Chaplin 1961, 1963-1975, 1979-1981, Outstanding Fireman 1995 and was on the Grand Gala Organization. Herb sponsored the Boston Little League in the 1960s-1970s, was President of the Boston Chamber of Commerce in 1963, President Maplewood Cemetery 1984-2014, awarded the Boston Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the year 1987, Boston Tax Collector 1972-1984, Boston Town Clerk 1972-1984, Deputy Commissioner of Board of Elections 1984-1992,Boston Town Band 1992, Boston Christmas lighting 1993, was on the committee for the New North Boston Fire Hall and the current Boston Town Hall.
