Obituary of Margaret A. Cross
Margaret Cross passed to Eternal Life January 25, 2023 due to natural causes. She was married to George Cross for 50 years until his death in 2017. She is a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Eggerstville, NY and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University at Buffalo.
While raising her children she worked as a substitute teacher in the Lackawanna Public School System and several Southtowns Catholic schools. She later worked at the Erie County Department of Social Services in various departments as a case worker and social welfare examiner before retiring after 21 years of service.
Margaret was a member of Saints Peter and Paul parish since 1968, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a Catechist and substitute teacher. She was a member of Altar & Rosary Society, Charismatic Prayer Group, Our Lady Undoer of Knots and Marian Cenacle.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Jennifer) Cross, Kathleen (Anthony) Calamunci and Sandra (Scott) Ambrose; grandchildren Anthony, Jacob, Cassandra, Aidan and Nathan; brothers James (deceased), Paul and Dennis, and sister-in-law Carolyn Cross.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at Saints Peter & Paul Church, Hamburg, NY on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at the church cemetery. No prior visitation.
