Obituary of Beatrice Young

YOUNG- Beatrice H. “Bea”

(nee May)

Of Hamburg, NY, age 101 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. She was the beloved mother of

Gerry A. and John A. Young; dear sister of Janice Taber; cherished grandmother of Mark

and Matthew Young, Cambra Shaw, Michael (Lizzii) , Nathan (Amy) and Bethany Young; also survived by seven

great-grandchildren: Zachary, Abby, Leah, Reid, Joshua, Declan, and Gracie. She was

predeceased by her parents, John and Sylvia (nee Schunk) May, her loving husband, George A. Young,

two sons David and Kenneth Young and four siblings. Bea was very active in her church, St. James the United Church of Christ in Hamburg.  

She had a number of interests including golfing, sewing and playing a variety of card games with her friends multiple times a week.  Bea was

also a very accomplished bowler and once rolled a 299, which she was very proud of.  Over the years, she held the positions of Secretary and

Treasurer for many bowling leagues in the area.  Friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home,

21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of services at 12 o’clock. Flowers are gratefully declined.
