Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

 Iwinski, Alice

Age 95 of Buffalo, NY and Lexington, KY passed away peacefully at home on July 20,

2023 surrounded by the love and prayers of her family and friends. Devoted wife of 31 years to the late Henry Iwinski, Sr.; dear sister to the late Ruth Wodowski and Dorothy Stachowiak; loving mother to the late Judith (James) Mayer and to Thomas (Sally), David (Betty),

Mark (Julie), William (Alice), Henry Jr. (Lesley), Mary (Edward) Bowman, Philip (Debra), Ann (Joseph) Winkler, and Keith (Nicole); also survived by 32 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and countless other cherished family and friends.

Alice lived an incredibly full life, mainly in the Buffalo area and in Lexington, but also raised family in California, the Philippines, Canada, Venezuela, and Ecuador. In her later years she loved drinking coffee and watching the sun rise on vacation in Topsail Beach, NC.

Alice’s day was built around prayer, and she especially loved Mass and the Rosary. She loved family traditions (often from her Polish roots) and for decades wherever she was felt like “home” to many. Alice was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres and the University of Kentucky, and always rooted for her favorite golfers. She enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, and choosing birthday cards for all of her family, in which she wrote “Love You Forever.” She had a brave, adventurous spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and lived a life of service with faith, kindness, humility, and love at its core.

Cremation Services were provided by Milward Funeral Home in Lexington, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church 66 E. Main St., Hamburg, NY on Thursday, August 10 at 10 am. Burial is at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY on Fri. Aug. 11th at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to  Our Lady of Victory Charities Helping Hands Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg.  Please share condolences at www.demmerleyfuneralhome.com
