NIVER - David A.

Of Hamburg, NY, August 7, 2023 age 93. Beloved husband of 67 years to Alice (nee Kammire) Niver; loving father of Susan (Alan) Percy, Thomas Niver and Amy (John) Allen ; cherished grandfather of David (Christine) and Jonathon (Kassandra) Percy, Maryalice and Clare Niver; adored great-grandfather of Nora Percy; loving brother of the late Donald (late Juanita), Robert (Audrey) and Martha Niver, and Jane (Bernard) Kiernan; also survived by many nieces and nephews; Dave was born in Corning, NY and graduated from Hammondsport High School “Class of 1948” in Hammondsport, NY. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Dave then married the love of his life, Alice Kammire, graduated from the University of Buffalo and started his career at Bethlehem Steel. Dave was consumed by sports, playing golf and tennis and being a lifelong supporter of the Buffalo Bills. After retiring from Bethlehem Steel in 1991, Dave enjoyed a second career providing daycare to all his grandchildren and a third career at Home Depot where he worked until the age of 91. Dave’s life was guided by his unconditional love of his family. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave Hamburg, NY on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 10- 11AM, where a Celebration of Dave’s Life will immediately follow at 11 AM.
