Kirst- John P. “Jack”

1936-2023

Age 87 of Hamburg, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023.  He was born on January 22, 1936 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late Edwin P. Kirst and the late Katherine (nee Haid) Kirst.  He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jean (nee Scheetz) Kirst; his four dear children Daniel (Cathy) and Mark (Amy) Kirst, Peggy (Thomas) Quinn, and Sandy (Tony) Kosowski; eleven cherished grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two dear sisters. He is predeceased by his parents and six siblings. Jack served proudly in the US Army, and he was a member of both the St. Bernadette’s RC Church and the Knights of Columbus.  Together, he and his wife owned and operated E. P. Kirst & Sons.

Relatives and friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave., Hamburg, NY on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4-8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 9:00 AM at the St. Bernadette’s RC Church, 5930 S. Abbott Rd., Orchard Park, NY.
