I had the pleasure of meeting George, along with Marcia and Ethel. It was a meeting at my great-auntie Mary's house in St. Walburg. I had always heard about our American cousins, so when they came to Canada, I had jumped at the opportunity to meet them. It was a wonderful visit, George has the best sense of humour and the group was so full of fun. After a few sociables, the conversation turned to me and my new boyfriend, it was hilarious. Marcia and Ethel wanted to know everything and George mused, if I married him, they would return for the wedding. It was such a fun night of stories and teasing. I did end up marrying the guy and George and the girls did return for the wedding. I was so grateful that they would travel to Saskatchewan to share our day. Over the years I looked forward to letters and cards that would show up. I loved hearing the stories of George's latest adventure or project. He seemed to live life to its fullest. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Sending prayers from Saskatchewan to you all during this difficult time. Hugs!
