March 16, 1930 – July 3, 2024


Of Hamburg, NY. Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at the age of 94. Beloved wife for 68
years of the late Stephen E. Gabor. Devoted mother of Madonna (Thomas) Jachimowicz, Dianne (David)
Braunstein, Stephen J. (Maureen) Gabor and Elizabeth (Robert) Schafer; Cherished grandmother of
Michael and Nicholas D’Agostino, David (Sara), Marc (Sabrina) and John (Andrea) Braunstein, Mariah
and Stephen Gabor, Andrew (Rachel) and Patrick Schafer; seven great-grandchildren; Dear sister of
Alice “Mickey” (late James) Duggan. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary (nee O’Malley)
Galligan, a daughter, Paula Gabor, two grandchildren, Paul Gabor and Caitlin Chesnes, two brothers,
William and Joseph Galligan. Mary was a 1948 graduate of Our Lady of Victory School in Lackawanna,
NY. She married the love of her life on August 18, 1951 and he preceded her in death on October 7,
2019. She worked as a secretary for the New York Central Railroad in Buffalo, NY for many years. A Mass
of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at SS Peter & Paul R.C. Church, 66 E.
Main St. Hamburg, NY at 10 AM. Please assemble at the church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lackawanna, NY. Please share online condolences at demmerleyfuneral.com.
