Age 94 of Hamburg passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Ann (nee Manning), for 60 years until her passing in 2017.  He was born in Buffalo, NY on May 1, 1930 to the late Raymond F. and Loretta M. (nee McAvoy) Canfield. He is survived by six loving children Loretta (Doug) Hooper, Joseph (Robin) Canfield, Cathleen Dotzler, Margaret (Marion) Chmielewski, Joanne (Kevin) Struck, and Daniel (Kelly) Canfield; sixteen dear grandchildren and ten cherished great-grandchildren. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at St. Bernadette’s RC Church and was a Union Carpenter.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave., Hamburg, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Fri. Sept 6^th at St Bernadette’s Church, 5930 S. Abbott Rd., Orchard Park. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Please assemble at the church. Flowers are gratefully declined.
