Of Gowanda, NY, Karen M. (nee Ericson)Howald  passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 70. Beloved wife of the late Harry Howald; loving mother of Stephen Howald, Susan (William) Balisteri, Jane and John (Sabrina) Howald; cherished grandmother of Andrea, Phillip, Kelly, William Nick, Savannah, Jimmy and Scotty; best friend of Joellen Lang; also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Art and Ruth (nee Morlock) Laufer. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending summers pontooning at Rushford Lake, and hosting holidays and cooking holiday meals for her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Shriner's Hospital for Children in her memory.
