So sorry to hear the loss of Barbara. My deepest sympathy and prayers for the entire Shaughnessy family. I went to school and graduated with Martin in St. Francis High School, Athol Springs, NY with whom we were best friends. I often served as altar boy with her husband in St. Peter and Paul RC Church. They were a faithful and devoted couple who raised a large family and I always wondered how they all could fit in the large family van! All too often Mrs. Shaughnessy picked me and Marty up from school a few times in that same van when it rained. She will be sorely missed and is a true angel who earned her wings. I am sorry I wasn’t able to attend your mother’s wake. Your mom was a beautiful person. I have fond memories of working the soup kitchen with her as a young adult. I always enjoyed our discussions. Mrs. Shaughnessy was an amazing teacher to me at St. Mary's. She also was instrumental in helping support my pregnancy once she found out I was a pregnant 16 yr old teen in school. I kept and raised my baby because of her. He is now 26 years old. Thank you Mrs.Shaughnessy for all you did for me. You will never know how much your support meant to me and my son.
