Of Hamburg ,NY, September 3, 2023. Beloved husband of 57 yrs of the late Claire (nee Irvin) Thounhurst; devoted and loving father of James “Scott” (Wendy) Thounhurst and  Jamie (Dave) Smith and Jennifer (Joseph) Salemi; cherished grandfather of Jason (Allison) and Andrew (Mallory) Thounhurst, Abigail (Patrick) Maroone, Angelo (Stephanie Lamb) Salemi, Bailey (Josh) Brosius, William Smith and 3 great-grandchildren; dear brother of Patricia (late Joe) Calagero. He was predeceased by 2 siblings, Fred and Phyllis Thounhurst. Jim retired from Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna, NY after many years of service. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and especially walking on a daily basis. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
