Dick was always so much fun to be around. We enjoyed a shared interest in gardening. He was much loved by everyone he knew. I just thought about how he made animal balloons for all the children back in the days when we all went camping as a group.
I know he will be missed very much by his family and friends.

Uncle Dick, I will always remember the Buffalo Bills game we went to in 1980. It was a Monday night game against the Dolphins, our biggest rival at the time. We parked at the house of one of your friends. This was a time before tailgating was popular. We had a pregame party then walked to the stadium. We had great seats and the Bills won by a large margin. We had a great time.
I will miss your jokes, your smile and that twinkle in your eyes. You were always the life of the party. I know the rest of "The Dirty Dozen" are waiting for you and that party won't start until you arrive. All of us that are left behind will never forget you or the rest of the "Dozen". Give them all a hug from us. We love and miss them all.

I will always remember your laugh… it was the best!! You were the light in the room; always so happy and full of life. You impressed us all with your energy and all your adventures… you did life to the fullest! But you never left family behind.. always caring and loving and taking the time to reach out. I have no doubt you’re bringing your joy to your heavenly family!
Always in our hearts… Love, Sharon

Dear Uncle Dick, to be in your presence always made Dennis & I smile and laugh at all your jokes, expressions, stories & candor, of which I’m sure you took to Heaven!! You always made us feel welcomed & loved during our visits, taking us on the neatest “outings” which never ceased to amaze us & kept us on our toes just trying to keep up with you. Surprised us yet again in July by taking us to a mini rock concert, which we all enjoyed. Golfing & poolside leisure was always a favorite for us all. I was blown away by a family reunion we attended, and just couldn’t believe the largest, friendliest crowd of family I met, not to mention the food!! Your green thumb in gardening was envious to us all & inspired me to plant a few of your favorites, so I am reminded of you whenever I’m in the yard. I’ll never forget the Dog Bar, as well as playing cards & listening to you reminisce different stories of long ago. Most of all, I’ll never forget the essence, smile & laughter that was you, my handsome, loving uncle.

If there is an award for “showing love” & “accepting everyone as they are,” YOU are the Winner – HANDS DOWN! Our many conversations regarding different subjects, such as world events & family history, totally touched my heart. It was evident just how wonderful an uncle, person & individual you really were! I’ll never forget the fun we had playing golf in New York & Virginia with Paula, Mike Bliddy, & of course, your weekly men’s golfing group. Attending Bills football games with you in Orchard Park were always exciting, as well as the wonderful food & conversations we shared at the DOG BAR every time Paula & I visited. Yes, I bow to you for your hilarious jokes, awesome card playing, Buffalo Chicken Dip, dancing & singing talents. I’ll never forget our last visit in July 2023. We had such a great time staying with you!
Well, I could go on & on, however, for now I will just say, “I’ll miss you very much until we see each other again. You are not only my uncle and friend, but also my Navy Veteran Brother! I salute you Uncle Dick for your service and for loving all of us the way you did.”

My dear Uncle Dick, you were the man who always had a joke. You always knew how to make people laugh. You were always there when someone needed you. I will never forget how happy I was when you came to see me in the hospital after my accident. I will forever miss you, but I know how happy all the family in heaven are to be with you again. Until we meet again, I love you and will cherish all the memories.

You were everybody's favorite Uncle (including mine), and that's saying a lot, since there are now at least 120 of us. You knew all of our names, birthdays, spouses and kids. I think you attended more weddings and collected more garters than any human on the planet. You were always there for every special occasion, including at least 30 years of Thanksgivings and Christmases. We spent countless hours opening gifts on Christmas Eve. Who else would wrap a pair of slippers in two separate boxes? And always in "vintage" wrapping paper :)
You knew every card game ever invented and won an uncanny number of them. Sitting on either side of you at a card table was always an error in judgement :)
If heaven has a comedy club, you are the newest headliner...hopefully with a giant manhattan in your hand.
I will never have chicken wing dip without thinking of you.
Love you and miss you.......
Barb...

Papa - the man, the myth, the legend. Thank you for stepping up to be Papa to Steven and Patrick. My dad (your brother) would have been so proud. Thank you for being more than an Uncle - friend, papa, ski buddy. Thanks for all the ski trips and for the life long friends I made because of you. Thanks for so many laughs while camping. Never a dull moment. I’m glad we taught the boys and Mike how to play “push rummy” because I can keep on playing. I will miss our card games - whether you were in the hospital, on camp outs or just at my house on the weekends. Buddy misses you. We miss you. Thanks for all the memories. Love you so so much.
Peggy aka Margaret.

Well, you had a heck of a ride! You beat the odds and lived longer than all your brothers and sisters.
I'm so glad. It gave you time to teach us how important family is, how to play cards (I shudder to think how much money I have lost over the years.) Thank you for teaching me how to ski and taking me with you on the last run of the night at KB. Thank you for sharing over 30 years of Thanksgivings and Xmas's. Thanks for all the chicken wing dip you made. Thanks for always ending our telephone conversations with a joke. You were an exceptional Uncle and man. I will think of you often. After all, you are quite unforgettable. Thank you for all the love you shared with me.
