Obituary of Richard I. Herr

RICHARD I. HERR (DICK) - 4/19/36-10/6/23

Age 87, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023.  Dick was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in 1954. He served time in the Navy, went to Canisius College and was then employed with T.R. Services, in Tonawanda, as a telephone system salesperson. He retired in 2001.

Dick enjoyed the outdoors. He was an active member of the Kissing Bridge Ski Patrol for 25 years and organized ski trips all over the world.  He also enjoyed golfing, dancing, telling jokes, camping with his niece Peggy and her family and gardening.  He was a founding member of the Snyder-Cleve Hill Garden View.  He was also a member of many groups including the Lederhosen Ski Club and the Dotted Notes singing group.

All are welcome to attend calling hours on Friday Nov. 3 from 4-7 at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave, Hamburg, NY

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Church, 66 E. Main St. Hamburg on Saturday, Nov. 4 at noon.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lorenzo Burrows, Jr. Legion Post #78, PO Box 248, Grand Island, NY 14072-0248.
